How to qualify as a Founding Host
Eight photos, your state registration number where required, 60 open nights in the next 12 months and the personality quiz.
Founding Host status is granted by OzGetaways to the first 2,500 properties that meet the checklist. You cannot switch it on yourself; the badge appears on your listing once it has been granted.
The checklist
- At least eight photos. Fifteen or more is better.
- A valid state short-stay registration number where your state requires one (NSW and WA), or in Tasmania a permit number or an exemption.
- At least 60 open nights in the next 12 months on your calendar.
- The Property Personality quiz completed.
- The listing marked ready for launch.
The review step shows the checklist with a tick against each item, so you always know what is left.
The first 2,500
Places are counted as they are granted, property by property, and the limit of 2,500 can change. If your listing is ready and the limit has been reached, it still launches with 0% host fees, our standard rate. It just does not get the 5-year guarantee, the badge or priority placement.
Keeping it
Founding Host status does not lapse. It is only removed if a listing breaks our terms. See Founding Host questions.
