About us
Holiday homes, done fairly
OzGetaways is a holiday rental platform built in Australia, for Australian stays. It is for anyone who has been caught out by fees that appear at the last step, and for hosts tired of giving up a big share of every booking.
So we do it differently. Guests see the total price upfront. Hosts keep more. And $2 from every booking goes to local charities through OzGetaways Gives.
What we believe
- Total price
- The price in search is the price you pay, service fee included. No fee turns up for the first time at checkout.
- 12%
- Our total platform cut on a booking: 0% host plus 12% guest, included in the price. Hosts keep 100% of their stay price, and Founding Hosts have that guaranteed to 29 November 2031.Our total cut: 0% host plus 12% guest. Hosts keep 100%.
- A person
- A real person reads every message, and the GetawayShield™ guarantee says what we do when a stay goes wrong.
- $2
- From every confirmed booking to local charities, out of our fee. See OzGetaways Gives.
No fake urgency, no countdown timers except real deadlines, no invented demand, and reviews only from real, completed stays.
How it works for guests
- Find a place with personalitySearch by where, when and who is coming. Every listing shows the total stay price first, its Property Personality and a short video walkthrough where the host has added one.
- Request or bookSome places book instantly; others ask the host, who replies within 24 hours. You are not charged unless the stay is confirmed.
- Pay securelyCard payments go through Stripe. We never ask you to pay a host any other way.
- StayThe address and check-in details arrive with your confirmation. Message your host through OzGetaways any time, and use Urgent help if something is wrong.
- ReviewAfter check-out you and your host can review each other. Reviews come only from completed stays.
How it works for hosts
- List freeFree to list. Optional upgrades if you want more. Listing on OzGetaways is free for life, with no compulsory listing, subscription, payout or admin fee. The guided setup takes you through details, pricing, photos, the Property Personality quiz and your calendar.
- Founding HostsEvery host pays 0% host fees. The first 2,500 qualifying properties lock it in for 5 years: every booking made from launch day, 30 November 2026, to 29 November 2031. We cover card fees.
- Accept bookingsChoose instant book or requests. Sync your calendar with Airbnb, Stayz or your channel manager so a night is only booked once.
- Get paidYour payout is sent the day after the guest checks in, and you always see exactly what you will receive before you accept.
Who we are
We are a small team based in Australia. We read every message ourselves, we answer the phone when you ask for a callback, and we would rather fix a problem than write a policy about it.
