$2 from every confirmed booking goes to a local cause, chosen by where you stay. It comes out of our fee, never your price.
$2 from every confirmed booking goes to OzGetaways Gives. Where it goes depends on where you stay.
Where the $2 comes from
It comes out of the OzGetaways fee. It is never added to the guest's price and never deducted from the host's payout. A $2,000 stay costs the guest exactly what the total says, and $2 of what we earn on it goes to the cause.
Where it goes
- Queensland reef coast stays, from the Fraser Coast to Cooktown: reef water quality.
- Bush, hinterland and alpine stays, such as the Blue Mountains, Scenic Rim, Snowy Mountains and Adelaide Hills: bushfire prevention and cultural burning.
- Everywhere else: shared across the causes.
We are finalising the charity partners and will name them, with their ABNs, before launch.
How it works
- When a booking is confirmed, $2 is pledged to the cause for that stay's region, or shared across the causes.
- If the booking is cancelled with a full refund, the pledge is reversed.
- Pledges are paid to the charities in batches, and the running total of what guests have given is published on the site.
On your confirmation
Checkout and your booking confirmation name where your $2 goes, for example "We give $2 from our fee to reef water quality." Where no region cause applies, they say "We give $2 from our fee to local charities through OzGetaways Gives."
