How our fees compare with Airbnb and Stayz
Like for like, using the published percentages as at September 2026: OzGetaways 12% total (0% host, 12% guest), Airbnb approx. 15.5%, Stayz approx. 14.5% to 23.5%.
These figures use the platforms' published percentages as at September 2026. They are approximate, they change, and they are the total platform cut (host fee plus guest fee) so the comparison is like for like.
Total platform cut
- OzGetaways: 0% host + 12% guest = 12% total. The same for Founding Hosts, whose 0% is guaranteed to 29 November 2031.
- Airbnb: approx. 15.5%, charged to the host, with no separate guest fee.
- Stayz (Vrbo), pay per booking: the host pays approx. 8.5% (5% commission, 3% payment processing, plus GST) and the guest pays a variable service fee of approx. 6% to 15%, lower on expensive or long stays and higher on short stays such as a two-night weekend. Total approx. 14.5% to 23.5%.
What the host keeps

- Stayz: approx. 91.5%. Airbnb: approx. 84.5%.
